Introduction to Human Rights
Focusing primarily on civil and political rights, this course
introduces students to the idea and origins of human rights, the
institutions that have been designed to protect them (including
domestic human rights codes and commissions), and
contemporary controversies surrounding them. Case studies
and examples of violations will be addressed as appropriate.
Assessment will include a short written assignment. (Cross-listed with SOJE260).
